We all know that doing farm work can be very hard and exhausting, being out in the heat for hours doesn't sound like a 'good day' to most of us these days.
Sitting in the house, or somewhere, with  the air-conditioning on, a cool drink in our hand, and relaxing - this is how many of us think about summer - heck, our job gives us enough grief, and sometimes what happens when we get home.... whew!
We also hear alot about the 'need' for 'immigrant workers', mainly Mexican , who will toil in the sun for less money than most Americans - but is there more to this story?

Since 9-11 our government has fallen all over themselves to use technology to avert 'crime' and 'potential terrorism' in this country. They want to have what essentially is a national ID card -(our driver's license is virtually that these days) - they want fingerprint scanners, facial recognition software, surveillance cameras everywhere and it goes on and on. Now, they want to know if you you are 'thinking' about committing  a crime based on numerous algorithms. Hmmm? What if I was simply thinking about a movie that had crime in it, or maybe I was recalling a crime that was committed against me at the moment these guys at Homeland Security are conducting surveillance on me?
These people have been given so much latitude when it comes to trespassing against our rights, liberties and freedoms, do they need anymore?
How many 'real' crimes has all of this technology and usurpations of our freedoms really netted so far?
I would venture to speculate, based on what I have read and heard over the last 10 years that mostly it was innocent people exercising their rights to say what they please, and others who casually wore a political t-shirt or had a bumper sticker on their car, or some who just attended a protest demonstration or political meeting , rally etc., these people have been 'netted' that's who!
They want to 'feel you up' at the airport and strip down, they want you to empty out your pockets when you go to a building, and guess what, those who go somewhere to commit a crime....THEY DO!
They don't abide by the rules!
Now, these less than moral, ethical and reputable types in our government and security services want to say that they 'know' when you are 'thinking' about doing wrong. Yeah right!
Of course there are potentially good uses to all of the afore-mentioned items, but it is also subject to abuse and that has happened often!
Yes, my friends, the 'terrorists' have 'won' - we are losing out rights, freedoms and liberties everyday and this will go on until the people muscle up and push back...after all it's 'OUR COUNTRY'!
- all of these people in government work for us!!!
You all see the bad crop of candidates that run and get elected year after year, you all complain.well..WHY DON'T ALL OF YOU GOOD PEOPLE RUN FOR OFFICE AND SET THINGS STRAIGHT?!!!
Do you think after having what we are told are the 'best and brightest' run our country and world right into the ground while they reap more control over every facet of our lives and fill their pockets with cash (at least the bankers and Wall Street types), do you think it is ever going to change? IT ISN'T WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!
If you want things to change, and I know most of you do, run for office, band together, ORGANIZE yourselves.. and throw the bums out, and put the REAL criminals in jail (while you also release the non-criminals who are in jail for trumped up phony charges like smoking a joint, or not paying illegal extortionist taxes that they don't owe).
Well, you get the picture, but I really don't understand that year after year polls say that people have an extremely low approval of how our government is run, but who ever runs to change it?
The point is, that if we get better people in government we won't have to use all of this stuff just to 'rope in' the population and keep them quiet and docile.
